Outstanding molten splash protection
Silicone coated fiberglass heat resistant tape is a knitted high
bulk glass fiber tape, heavily coated with our proprietary compound
of iron oxide red silicone rubber. The specially designed compound
sheds molten metal splash immediately, so very little heat transfer
occurs.
Silicone rubber fiberglass fire resistant tape is the perfect
choice for protection of industrial hydraulic hoses and lines,
pneumatic lines, fuel & oil lines, brake lines, wires, cables, tube
and pipe from exposure to high and extreme heat conditions. The
extra thick special formulation of silicone rubber sheds molten
metals, slag, welding splatter, electrical or grinding sparks and
contamination. This tape also provides protection from ozone, UV
and abrasion and provides thermal insulation.
Silicone Coated Fiberglass Tapes withstands continuous exposure to
500°F (260°C), up to 2000°F (1090°C) for 15-20 minutes, and up to
3000°F (1650°C) for 15-30 seconds.
When exposed to flame, the silicone rubber transforms to a crust,
creating a protective SiO2 refractory layer.
Non-adhesive install, without disconnection
Silicone rubber fiberglass heat resistant tape has an excellent
modulus of elasticity and can wrap any diameter hose or cable -
typically in a spiral wrap with a 50% overlap. Can be installed
without disconnecting hoses or cables.
Always wear safety glasses, dust mask, gloves and long sleeves are
recommended when handling this product
