ASRS also known as the overhead warehouse, automated stereo warehouse is the one generally referring to using layers, or even dozens of layers of shelves to store unit goods and handling equipment for inbound and outbound operations with the corresponding material. And this kind of warehouse can make full use of the space for storing goods.

Automated stereo warehouse makes use of the coordination of automated storage device and computer management system, to realize the high-rise rationalization of stereo warehouse, access automation, and simple operation. The automated stereo warehouse is mainly composed of shelves, aisle-stack crane (stacker), input (output) work platform, scheduling control system and management system. The automated stereo warehouse combines different types of warehouse management software, graphic monitoring and scheduling software, barcode recognition and tracking system, transfer robot, AGV car, goods sorting system, stacker addressing recognition system, stacker control system and goods location detector, to realize various stereo warehouse operation mode like single-unit manual operation, single-unit automatic operation, on-line control and network control. And it has achieved goods’ ASRS, access automation, and standardized management, which can greatly reduce warehousing and shipping expenses, labor intensity, and improve warehouse space utilization rate.
